COMPLAINT U/s 12 of The Consumer Protection Act 1986



The complainant is approaching this forum with relevant facts alone, necessary for adjudication of the remedies available under this statute alone (CPA 1986).


The Complainant sent an RTI application dated 23.3.11, to the 1st respondents, with a fee of Rupees 10.


The application contained 5 queries, the 5th bearing 7 sub-queries, which was forwarded U/s 6(3) of RTI Act to the 2nd respondent.
Having appropriated the fee amount of rupees 10/-, the respondents declined to provide the information sought, and the 2nd respondent sent an irrelevant reply dated by reply dated 31.3.11, apparently due to their misdeeds and acts of omission & commission


Since their impugned action resulted in deficiency of service, the complainant caused issuance of a legal notice dated 31.8.11, calling upon them to compensate him with a sum of Rupees 4 lakhs, but to no avail.


As a consequence the complainant suffered mental agony, and deficiency of service, valued notionally at around rupees 4 lakhs, and hence a fee of Rs.200/- is paid vide IPO dated bearing Number .


Hence the complainant prays that this Hon’ble Forum shall be pleased to,


Direct the respondents to compensate the complainant with rupees 4 lakhs for deficiency in service &,


Further direct provision of the information, and render justice.
