Some information Appointment of Attorney General, Solicitor’s General &
Additional/Assistant Solicitor’s General (hereinafter referred to as AG/SG/ASG’s)
across India.- regarding

INFORMATION SOUGHT.

1. Kindly inform or supply copy of the modes prescribed/adopted by the Government of India for Appointment of AG/SG/ASG’s & advocates for GoI & its agencies across India, and which GO/circular/etc provides the modes for such appointments. Provide a certified copy of such GO/circular.

2. Kindly inform or supply copy of (mode of selection) were the AG/SG/ASG’s & advocates for GoI & its agencies selected for representing the GoI & its agencies in the Madras High Court & Supreme Court in 2006 & 2011.

3. Provide the details of applications made for each such post, name & designation of the person/authority who selected each of them, and what is the duty, responsibility & liability of each law officer. Provide a certified copy of each application and the entire file relating to the appointment to each position.

4. Kindly inform number of complaints were received against the law-officers of GoI & its agencies during 2006-12, and what action was taken on each complaint. Provide certified copy of each file that emanated from each such complaint.
